Don't Forget it is Part Tax Free for Missouri this Weekend August 2nd - August 4th at 11:59 pm cst.

Hello Obsessionitas,

I hope you are enjoying it wherever you are.
This is a reminder for those who have kids or in college and have to get the O So fun supplies. Teachers most of the time have to put out their own money too and that does add up.
Missouri's Annual Tax Part Holiday August 2nd 12:01 am to August 4th 11:59 pm CST 2019.

This is not only for Students, Teachers, College Students to take advantage of.

When Is Missouri what I call part tax free weekend holiday.
Missouri 2019 part tax-free weekend run from August 2nd 12:01 am on Friday and runs through the weekend till August 4th at 11:59 pm CST.

While you don't get to save all the tax you do however in certain parts of the state save the Missouri Sales Tax. It is better than nothing.

What I have found in the past some of the bigger towns will not participate which bears to wonder why to have it if optional for each town.

In the past, some of the bigger towns Store companies have case give their own discount. Some just made it 10% if you mentioned the tax-free weekend. So in some cases, it is a better deal than the 4.225% you get with part tax-free.

So now that you know when it is what do you get to take advantage of the deals.

What is included or should be able to get in the Missouri Part Tax-Free Deals for the Weekend.
This is good in stores and some even online. If they don't show up online call and check with the customer service to see if they are not including themselves in this part tax-free weekend. I believe that now we have to pay sales tax on all online places they are included in this too.

Clothing priced at $100 or less and total cost.

School Supplies priced at $50 or less total cost. Some items are included are textbooks, notebooks, paper, writing instruments, crayons, art supplies, rulers, book bags, backpacks, chalk, maps, globes, handheld calculators and graphing calculators.
Most of the school supplies are included in this. (Of course, there is always exemptions to this).

Computer Software priced at $350 or less per item.

Graphing Calculators priced at less than $150.

Computers and computers peripheral devices priced under $1500 per item: Laptops, Desktops, and Tablets are included. This would be a great time to take advantage of the deals of the high priced items.

Here are the main things not included in this part tax-free sale weekend.
Watches of any kind, radios, cd players, headphones, and sporting equipment.
Now I do have a problem with a few items on the not include sales tax part.

Sound off below if you feel different.
I personally feel if the item is on a student especially a school list required for class supplies it should be included in the deal. Here are some that I know haven't been on there in the past for part tax-free: Hand Sanitizer, Headphones, plastic bags, zip locks bags, tissues, bandaids.

Some could say these are optional items but they are not optional in my children's case. They are required to have headphones and to say it is not needed is not right. In this case, I do really hope the state of Missouri will reevaluate some of the items not included.

I am sure you are asking yourself or wondering does this part tax-free weekend include online purchases.

Yes, it does for the most part. If you buy the item during the time frame of the part tax-free weekend holiday and complete the transaction before August 4th 11:59 pm CST yes all should be included. I know Old Navy was not allowing mine to be tax-free. So what I did was nicely call the 1800' number and told the lady and she said no I was not the first to complain about this. So they were instructed to enter them in on their end again to be able to adjust the sale tax part. Just please remember manners when calling in. Chances are you are not the first one to call or them to talk to that day.

Please remember Missouri part tax-free shopping guidelines are:
Some cities and counties have opted out of participating in this holiday weekend.
Complete List who have opted out.
If you want to learn more or have questions they could be answered here.

Now here are a few of my tricks that have worked in the past I have used in the past to get the most for my money deal. One if you are shopping in-store this might make people behind you upset but if it saves you money I would. I take my orders and break them up by Clothes in one order. Supplies in another up to $50. If you remind the cashier you want to stay at the $50 mark most are willing to help out. If you have credit or debit card be prepared might have to call and verify that it is you in-store using your card. Too many different transactions in a row might red flag your card. So the suggestion to this. If you have it take cash. If nothing else give the cash to the kids to give to the cashier. That way they feel included and have a pride of giving it to them. At least this is what I have done in the past. Now one last tip in stores makes sure you don't go to close to that last minute to it being done. Remember other people will wait to the last minute to get the deals too.

One last thing I forgot to add is most of the companies understand you are buying this weekend so be smart and check to the best deal for the supplies you are getting. Price check thing before you go in. Now the stores don't price match anymore might not be the best deal. Remember some might have limited quantities or max purchase per person. If that is the case take another person with you and give them the money before going. If each person has money most won't question it if you have money. Remember the stores are all competing to get your money this weekend.

Now as for the online you can break orders into smaller ones too. Just might be prepared for your card locking up to protect you and might have to call and verify it is you using the card.

Now to leave you I will try to break down some of the best deals of stores of supplies, clothes and maybe even computers. Depends on the time is allotted for.

Some stores I will compare or try too:
Walmart
Target
Walgreens
Dollar General

Best Buy
Staples
Office Depot

Old Navy
Kohls
JcPenny's
Academy Sports (clothing, Shoes)
Dicks Sporting Goods?

Now I am not sure about other States but I will try to find out their dates for the tax-free or part tax-free weekend.
